Remixta Netlabel Is Looking For Artists

Posted in News by DJ Suva on February 17, 2010 14 Comments

Thanks to relatively high interest in Remixta show, we have been planning on making a Remixta based netlabel in the near future. The netlabel will start releasing albums by great artists from Renoise scene.

As for now, we are looking a first artist and first album/EP to release. If you have some great stuff, please get in touch with me. Send me a demo tracks and project descriptions (see Contact page)

  1. There is no money involved. The music will be released for free for everyone.
  2. There will be considerable amount of promotion for the artist
  3. This will not be a free service to upload your random music like soundcloud.
  4. We will not release just any material you give us. It has to be high quality music which you are proud of, and which has other fans too.
  5. Material should be original, and not released before.

  • Denim:

This sounds exciting, it’s great that you want to expand Remixta into something more.

    Anyway, a couple of questions:
    - How are you planning to promote the artist, exept for through the radio show?
    - Are you interested in any kind of music that is good and of high quality, or will you be narrowing down to certain styles/genres that you prefer?

    • DJ Suva:

Hey Denim, thanks for the questions.

      - How are you planning to promote the artist, exept for through the radio show?

The remixta site gets quite a bit of traffic from people interested in music, this alone will bring hundreds of listeners. Other than that, the regular methods of posting the release around in all social networking sites netlabel directories etc. Also I have couple of ideas to create promotional networks, which I would not reveal just yet.

Also I will try to assist the artist in the release process, as much as my time and money allows me. :)

      - Are you interested in any kind of music that is good and of high quality, or will you be narrowing down to certain styles/genres that you prefer?

Any kind of music goes, the important thing is that it is good. But I am likely to cocentrate more on rhythmic music like dnb, house, techno, etc. There are lots of IDM labels out there, so I am trying to avoid this, unless the release is very good, like I can name couple of IDM releases.

But this doesn’t really mean anything. If it is good then I am happy to promote the music.

  • Hi Suva,

    this sounds very nice.
i have one question. are there any rules of how much music a artist should release per year? i think you know what i mean :)

would be great to be a part of this idea but i don`t think that my stuff is good enough but that`s something you have to say.

    greets

    kasmo

    • DJ Suva:

There is no rule on how much you have to release. As a first thing I am looking for the first release. No future obligations to the label.

Your music is pretty good and I would definitely consider it. :)

  • i`m allways unsure about my own music, so thanks for the flowers :)

sadly i have nothing unreleased at the moment but for future releases you can count me in if you like.

  • So your looking for more electronica based? I produce hiphop/ triphop/ Dubhop ish for my main project.. Will this be eleigible?

    • DJ Suva:

Yes, of course. But the yes/no really depends on the certain release and material, not the genre itself, as said.

  • I believe I have a few decent tracks that are interpretations of dance styles(a sort of techy, breakbeat, dubstep-like fusion) which you MAYBE have not heard(I say maybe there are always innovators before us).

I believe the quality is good, however, a prerequisite you mentioned was having fans, of which I have none….should I bother “applying” so to speak?

    • I just wanted to add, the reason for not having fans is haven’t shared it with anyone! Been waiting for the right moment, this may be it!:)

      • DJ Suva:

Sorry, I forgot to reply to this earlier.

Of course you can send me all kinds of stuff. Some self critics is good and productive, makes you become better artist by constantly improving yourself. But sometimes if you are too careful, you will miss an opportunity.

        So please, everyone, apply!

  • Just want to say nice initiative, best ofluck with the label

  • Woot. I dunno if I have ideas soon but I think I will spam you with some of the newer releases, if there will be any ;)

  • This sounds pretty good, but I’d like to clarify one thing: is each album done by a single person under the Remixta label, or a collection of work by multiple people (a la Chimera)? I ask because I have a single I’d like to contribute, but greedy capitalist that I am, I’m going to try to sell the album I finished recently – just as soon as I fix my stupid CD drive.

But I guess I can always submit it for the podcast, so whatever. I guess that works.
